About the Maurice Lacroix Pontos Collection
The Maurice Lacroix Pontos collection, introduced in 2001, has been a key part of the brand's lineup for many years. Inspired by the ancient Greek sea god Pontus, these watches focus on simple, clean designs with a modern touch. The collection started with classic round cases but later expanded to rectangular designs as well, offering more variety. Over time, the Pontos collection has grown to include more complex models, such as the Phase de Lune Décentrique and the Rectangulaire Chronograph. In 2016, day-date models were added, bringing additional functionality to the range.
Design Excellence
This collection is celebrated for its sleek and modern aesthetic. The design prioritises clarity and elegance, featuring clean lines and minimalistic layouts. Most models in the collection showcase round cases, typically ranging from 40 to 43mm, while earlier versions included distinctive rectangular cases. The dials often feature sunburst finishes, with applied line indices that enhance readability. Materials like stainless steel, titanium, and bronze are carefully selected to ensure durability and a refined look. The collection's design stands out with its unique off-centre displays.
Mechanism and Iterations
The Maurice Lacroix collection showcases sophisticated Swiss craftsmanship with automatic movements, including modified ETA and Sellita calibres, renowned for their precision and reliability. For diving enthusiasts, the Diver S series features a stainless steel case with a brushed and polished finish, sapphire crystal, and a case back with special engraving. Water-resistant for up to 30 ATM, it's built for underwater exploration and perfect for both style and adventure. For a touch of elegance, the collection offers the Day-Date and Chronograph versions rendered mostly in steel and at times in bronze. Each timepiece is water-resistant up to 100 metres apart from the Diver S, making them ideal for both daily wear and special occasions.

ABOUT THE MOVEMENT
The calibre which runs the Maurice Lacroix Pontos Day Date is known as ML143. It draws on the reliable SW200 movement, which is Sellita’s version of the acclaimed ETA2824. Exhibiting a traditional finish with Côtes de Geneve and Perlage, this calibre powers core functions, including hours, minutes, and seconds display. Additionally, it features a date display at six o'clock and a day display at 12 o’clock. With a power reserve of 38 hours, a frequency of 28,800vph, and 26 jewels, this calibre exemplifies precision and craftsmanship.
