About the Longines Heritage Collection
The Heritage collection celebrates the pivotal moments and iconic designs that defined the journey of Longines from their establishment in 1832 in Saint-Imier, Switzerland. By revisiting and revitalising classic models, the brand connects the past with the present, allowing collectors and enthusiasts to appreciate timepieces that reflect the evolution of design and functionality. It includes an array of timepieces that span different segments of the brand's history, blending vintage aesthetics with modern mechanical improvements. This balance ensures that each piece is not only visually appealing but also highly reliable and adaptable to today’s demands.
Design And Iterations
Each series in this collection is a curated reflection of its era, incorporating design cues and technical elements that tell stories of the past while meeting the requirements of contemporary watchmaking. The Longines Pilot Majetek, for example, is a revival of the original 1930s military pilot watch, showcasing distinctive features such as a clean dial with oversized numerals and hands for visibility in flight. Similarly, the Conquest Heritage is a prime example of how Longines merges historic influence with modern-day standards. Inspired by the 1950s Conquest line, it incorporates elements like a vintage-style dial and a slim, sophisticated profile, while utilising modern materials for enhanced durability. The Legend Diver is especially celebrated for its revival of a 1960s model, showcasing an elegant yet practical design suited for divers. Its unique features include a rotating bezel and a robust, water-resistant case, which serve as a nod to its original purpose.
Meanwhile, the Ultra-Chron stands as a testament to Longines' innovative spirit, marking the brand’s historic leap into high-frequency movements during the late 1960s. The Flagship Heritage series, another notable segment, brings forth a more refined and formal design ethos, revisiting the 1950s flagship models that first showcased Longines’ pursuit of elegance and precision. The watches in this series are marked by their timeless appeal, featuring a clean, balanced layout that includes a date function and subtly modernised case designs. Longines’ Avigation series continues this theme, paying tribute to their aviation heritage with timepieces designed for functionality and readability at high altitudes. The design carries a classic pilot’s aesthetic, featuring bold dials and a utilitarian approach that complements the brand’s deep-rooted history of producing military-grade instruments.

ABOUT THE MOVEMENT
The L896 is an automatic calibre with a monocrystalline silicon balance spring and produces a 72-hour power reserve, offering improved resistance to magnetic fields and shocks. Operating at 25,200vph, it is used in the Conquest Heritage collection. Moreover, the 21 jewels are responsible for the friction-free movement of the components. It powers the hours, minutes, seconds, date, and central power reserve indicator. The L896 calibre combines traditional watchmaking with modern innovations to deliver durability, precision, and enhanced reliability.
