Evolutionary Design

The contemporary Superocean models reflect Georges Kern’s “Modern Retro” approach, putting together historical elements with modern aesthetics and functionality. Inspired by the legacy of the 1960s Slow Motion chronograph, the new Superocean watches feature distinctive design elements such as the unique minute hand with a square insert, block-like hour markers, and a wide inner rehaut. Innovative Features

The original Superocean was designed for deep-sea diving with a rotating bezel to track time and water resistance up to 200 metres. It had large, glowing hour markers and hands for easy reading underwater. Modern Superocean models are designed with exceptional water resistance, capable of withstanding depths of up to 500 metres. The watches are equipped with high-quality materials such as scratch-resistant ceramic bezels and Super-LumiNova coating on the hands and markers, ensuring durability and legibility under water. The calibre 17 movement, based on the Sellita SW200, provides reliable and precise timekeeping, certified by COSC as a chronometer. Additionally, the Superocean watches include practical elements like a dive extension piece in the clasp, making them convenient for use over wetsuit gloves.
