About the Breitling Avenger Collection
The Avenger series, first introduced in the early 2000s, represents Breitling’s dedication to crafting aviation watches tailored to the most extreme conditions. Initially designed for fighter pilots, the collection embodies the brand’s spirit of adventure and resilience. These Breitling watches are built to withstand high altitudes, rapid pressure changes, and the physical demands of a cockpit environment, making them reliable companions for both professionals and enthusiasts alike.
Design And Iterations
The Avengers collection has evolved over the past two decades but has retained its core aesthetic principles. Recent updates to the collection have introduced modernised designs while maintaining the classic elements that define the series. The collection now offers a variety of options, including chronographs, GMTs, and time-and-date models, each catering to different needs. Whether equipped with a stainless-steel bracelet or a military leather strap, the Avenger watches are designed to be as tough as they are versatile. Throughout its iterations, the Avenger has maintained its bold identity while integrating modern updates. The latest Avenger collection features a range of models totalling 11 references. The chronograph models, in particular, like the Avenger B01 Chronograph 44 and the Avenger B01 Chronograph 44 Night Mission stand out with their bold dial colours, ranging from blue and black to green and sand.
These watches for men feature a rotating 60-minute bezel and screw-down crowns and are powered by Breitling’s in-house calibre 01 movement, known for its 70-hour power reserve, offering robust reliability in high-performance settings. The exhibition caseback allows a view into the intricate mechanics of the movement, highlighting Breitling's commitment to precision. The Avenger’s design has also seen subtle refinements over the years, with the latest iterations smoothing out some of the more aggressive design features while preserving its distinctive look. The iconic winged 'B' logo has been replaced with a large scripted 'B,' giving the collection a more streamlined and contemporary appearance.

This automatic chronograph from Breitling is an extraordinary timepiece. The satin-brushed bezel has stencil numerals engraved on it, which add a rather distinct touch to it. The bezel itself is a time rotating one, designed specifically for measuring time underwater during scuba diving. This is done by rotating the bezel in such a way as to match the zero marker on it with the minute hand. This is to be done just before diving. The minute hand will thus show time spent underwater by pointing to the markers on the bezel. As a safety measure, the bezel is fitted with a ratchet so that it can only rotate in a counter-clockwise direction. This means that even in case the bezel is rotated by mistake while underwater, it will err only on one side. This will ensure that you never underestimate the time spent underwater and always manage to come out before you run out of air supply. The watch is water resistant up to 300 m and even has a screw-lock crown which prevents water from entering the case through the stem hole. The Breitling Avenger II has a self winding mechanical movement and 42 hours of power reserve. The watch has been certified as a chronometer by COSC, the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute.
