About the CIGA Design Energy Collection
CIGA Design have earned widespread acclaim for their innovative and creative designs, winning prestigious prizes such as the GPHG and Red Dot Awards. In an industry long dominated by Swiss and German watchmakers, CIGA Design have established themselves as a leading Chinese brand that's revolutionising traditional watchmaking. The Energy Collection focuses on visible mechanics and modern industrial design. These watches are defined by their unique X-shaped structure, prominently showcased within the dial and the movement, creating a striking visual identity for the collection.
Design Language And Iterations
Each model within this series is characterised by an open-worked dial, making the movement the focal point of the watch. The Eastern Jade model stands as a key design within the series, inspired by the smooth contours of jade in traditional Chinese culture. It adopts an organic, rounded case profile with a modern, minimalist execution. The curves represent continuity and the rhythm of life, while the skeleton dial brings a raw view of time’s inner workings. In a more robust direction, the Watch Gorilla draws on the physical strength and layered symbolism of a gorilla. Four independent spring suspension systems at the case corners provide shock resistance and enhance the watch’s durability. The design reflects inner strength, freedom, and adaptability—core ideas aimed at a younger audience.
The Eye of Horus edition introduces a mythological element, reimagining one of ancient Egypt’s most enduring symbols of protection and renewal. Here, the dial structure incorporates the eye motif within a mechanical layout, blending historical iconography with industrial design. Material experimentation reaches its peak in the Watch Machina, which employs a brightly coloured ceramic case formed through high-temperature sintering. The jelly-like texture, achieved by extensive polishing, offers both durability and visual interest. The model uses a fully automatic, two-way winding system that requires no battery. Another notable piece is the Crystal Love model, a tribute to Audrey Hepburn’s elegance, with a case design inspired by the emerald-cut Tiffany necklace she wore in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Crafted with a 56-facet mineral crystal and a minimalist three-part structure, the watch reflects and refracts light like a gemstone, creating a refined yet technically precise aesthetic.

ABOUT THE MOVEMENT
CIGA Design use exclusive, customised movements developed in partnership with the Tianjin-based watchmaker SEAGULL in many of their timepieces. This self-winding mechanical movement is employed in Series C, Series Z, and Series MY watches, driving them with a beat rate of 21,600 vibrations per hour. This movement is crafted with 19 jewels and offers a power reserve of 40 hours.
In line with CIGA Design's tradition of skeletonised dials, all SEAGULL movements feature impressive architecture and finishing. Moreover, they undergo four tests to ensure unmatched accuracy.
