Before entering the world of watchmaking, Jacob Arabo, the founder of Jacob & Co. was known for creating exquisite jewellery pieces. The venture into horology was not easy as many Swiss watchmakers turned him down. This did not deter him from creating his first watch, a timepiece that featured 5 time zones. This watch was worn by Naomi Campbell and this helped the brand with much-needed traction. Honouring these timepieces, a reinterpretation of the timepiece was launched and was called the Jacob & Co. Ghost collection.
Features
Equipped with an LCD display, the Ghost collection features five timezones in independent windows. As far as accuracy is concerned, the timepieces under the collection need to be corrected according to the Greenwich Mean Time and the rest of the cities will align automatically. Apart from different timezones, Daylight Savings Time and Leap Years have also adjusted automatically. The home time is displayed at 3 o'clock, whereas, the rest of the timezones appear on the rest of the windows. One can easily choose from a list of 20 pre-set cities. Moreover, one can also adjust time according to the atomic clock-regulated Internet time signal by just connecting the watch Via a USB cable to a Mac or a PC.
Materials
For its mechanical dexterity, the Ghost collection is equally complimented by its aesthetics. Inside the Ghost Carbon series, the dial and bezel are made with carbon fibre. One can also choose from Camouflage or a coloured iteration. As the apple does not fall far from the tree, the Ghost is also fitted with timepieces that shine the light on precious stones such as diamonds and rubies. Apart from precious stones, one can also choose from precious metals such as rose gold.
