Bell & Ross embarked on its journey in the early 90s, creating precision timekeeping instruments for diverse experiments and expeditions. While most of the brand's watches were originally designed for practicality with a square shape, in 1997, Bell & Ross introduced the Bell & Ross Vintage collection, featuring a round set of timepieces.
Iterations
The very first Vintage launched by Bell & Ross was the BR V1. Today, the V1 still rocks the cradle for the Vintage collection and offers a rather unique much simpler, refined, and elegant take on the instrument manufacturer, the Bell & Ross. The dauphine hands fitted over a polished round dial are the mainstay of the BR V1 Auto. Apart from this simple stature, the BR V1 Auto also features a date window fixed between the four and five o'clock marker. It is not in the brand's DNA to keep a stable of simple creatures, the brand is meant to be a workhorse. In this iteration of the Vintage collection, the brand adds a pinch of its original DNA, most prominently, a rotating bezel and a protected crown.
Another iteration of the V2 is the BR V2 GMT, a dual timer in which the second time zone is displayed by a long central hand. Whereas, the BR V2 Chrono features a bi-compax layout to display chronograph sub-dials. The V2 Chrono also features a tachymeter on the bezel for all the complex calculations.
Expanding the horizons of the Vintage collection, the BR V3 offers a rather modern take on the vintage aspect of the collection. The BR V3 offers the Vintage collection in a 43mm case that is counted inside the XL proportions. These robust chronographs are available in two iterations, one in a bi-compax layout and the other in a vertical layout containing three chronograph sub-dials.
